TATOUS
2014
Have we already exhausted all the techniques for bending wood? Have we reached the limits of what’s possible? Despite these questions, I chose to move forward with my vision—transforming wood into something that behaves like a sheet or even a textile. A single surface, capable of folding, curving, and generating volumes while still retaining its flexibility. Paradoxical? Perhaps, but this material inspired me throughout the entire project.
Through cuts, grooves, and explorations of design incisions, I developed TATOUS, a project made possible with contemporary production processes such as laser cutting.
